Frequently Asked Questions

What is Turtlebrace?

This hybrid brace is made from an environmentally-friendly, low-temperature thermoplastic fused to an antibacterial microfiber fabric envelope. Turtlebrace stabilizes a part of the body in a fraction of the time it would take for plaster cast immobilization. This immobilization can be used to prevent, correct or control malposition, and to treat inflammation or trauma. Turtlebrace is stronger than polypropylene, polyethylene or fiberglass, at a fraction of the weight.

What models are available?

Turtlebrace is available in various sizes for babies, children and adults, for the wrist, ankle, elbow and as a corset. Three universal extensions have been developed: Thumb, palm or finger. These extensions are welded securely to the wrist orthosis by heating, making it possible to stabilize almost all possible hand pathologies (e.g. limitation of finger extension or retraction, thumb immobilization).

What pathologies can Turtlebrace orthoses be used for?

Turtlebrace orthoses can be used for a wide range of conditions, including stable fractures, sprains, post-operative immobilization, serial immobilization protocols, spasticity control and many other pathologies.

Among other things, Turtlebrace is ideal for use in pediatric physiotherapy, for example in the treatment of spina bifida, cerebral palsy, scoliosis, clubfoot, equinus foot and Botox reduction and treatment.

Turtlebrace’s infinite reshaping capability means it can be used successfully in place of serial casting. This also reduces the time and costs involved in manufacturing replacement orthoses for the evolutionary phases of certain treatments (e.g. clubfoot, hypotonia, Achilles tendon tear, spastic deformities, etc.). By readjusting the orthosis, it can even accompany the patient for 12 to 18 months on a growing child.

Where is Turtlebrace manufactured?

Turtlebrace is fully assembled in North America, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and rigorous quality control.
